Location Change for CEUs + A View!

In May, IdeaCentre HIM Solutions started planning what we thought would be a huge hit among HIM professionals. We rolled out “CEUs with a View”, a HIM professionals cruise aboard the largest cruise ship in the world, Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas! After six months of promotion, we have had a lot of interest but very few people signed up. The feedback we got back was that it was too expensive or too long. So, we went back to the drawing board. We researched with healthcare facilities, put out surveys, and checked out other CEU opportunities.

What we found out was that many of you earn your CEUs online and some even find free ones that way. Others earn them when they go to the state and/or national conventions. Those are both great ways to earn CEUs but do you enjoy learning in that setting? Most HIM professionals are in front of a computer for at least eight hours a day. That’s not good for your eyes or your spirit.The downside of most conventions is that they are held during the weekdays and off season months to keep expenses down. It’s time to get out and enjoy some fresh air and make connections with colleagues who you haven’t seen in forever and, dare we say, bring your family or friends along, make it a workation!
